Those bolts are a grade 5, with a torque of 33 ft. lbs.

Do not use washers!

Are they different than the bolts used in the regular production M40 applications that had the threaded lug convertors? .

Pete, according to JoeG, they are. I posted an image of
the AMK bolts and I'm not sure they are right. Hope someone
can post an image of the real ones.....

Here are two of the six converter bolts in my 70 Z-28:






Some Dimensions:

Thd Length = 1/2"

Thd Spec = 3/8 - 16UNC

Head Thickness = .235"

Hex = 11/16"

That's what I needed to see. Thanks a ton ! Now, pull the
other 4 bolts out and send them to me so I can see how well
they look together on my converter.

Are these bolts available from any fastener supplier? What about junkyards? They had to be used in other applications.

I will contact AMK to see if they can help.

I am sure they would look positively beautiful on your converter.

I have found that Rick's First Generation in a good source for small detail items like nuts and bolts.
They specialize in camaros.
