I have been nicked many times for dust in or on a car. Fortunately I am not there to see how high a score I can get and am not going to go over a car with a fine tooth comb just for bragging rights. Judge it for what it is. Personally, I take a point deduction for dust as a compliment. Just means they couldn't find anything else.

Despite Charley's 70 Z leaving the factory like this, I can almost guarantee all of the following get deductions:
Poor paint coverage on the tail panel (my 69 was the same way). Crappy nose fit. Trunk weatherstip glue all over. Trim screw installed 2/3 of the way in. And a few more.
