There are build sheets out there indicating such with special order...........never say never, right Rick? Understanding that most any documentation can be replicated these days ......still why would anyone consider such a model without an original BS or window sticker?

It is a characteristic of the Baltimore Trim Tags.

I went on three inspections this year where someone paid big money for what they thought was a real LS6 convert. Two of these individuals have huge collections and are very knowledgable but not on LS6's and both got badly stung. I just wish they would check with us BEFORE they buy. <div class="ubbcode-block"><div class="ubbcode-header">Quote:</div><div class="ubbcode-body"> As I learned in the last year you could get stripe colors other than "offered" on these. Not only the one I posted for you but a more recent Black Cherry with black stripes and "D88 Stripe painted black per F&SO" on the build sheet. Just sold from Ill and headed out east.

Some of those restamps are the worst that I have ever seen. (Transmission, alternator, and rear end especially)

Still a nice looking vert, great color combo, IMO, available that way from the factory or not.
Clone money to me is in the 45 - $70KUS range. If I could get it for that the look on my buddies' faces when I baked the tread off those bogus ply tires would be priceless. "How can you do that to such a rare and expensive piece?" they would ask. Of course, only then would I come clean. And the attention it would get at donuts derelicts? Oh, yeah. I have seen (and mistakenly bought) some restamped items that were not detectable to the naked eye. I would have rather had the items presented to me easily determined to be restamps so I could have not made the mistake. But for $65KUS I would be all over this car, you just could not produce one, a "tribute" of this caliber, for that. |

Actually.. to me... That would be the car I would buy over a real LS6 convertible.. A real one is just too damn valuable and rare to drive and enjoy.. I think its an ideal situation to be in.. Real good clone to drive and enjoy.
