Looks like the same tagless car we looked at here last year?
If so it was advertised as up here in Canada, somewhere near Montreal I think? Ground down hiddens may still show from the backside. Fourty lashes to whoever the fool that killed it and stole its identity for a rebody! ~ Pete

![]() I had asked the seller if he could send what he could make out of the vin.... Here is his reply.... ( maybe you guys can figure out which one it was ) <span style="color: #FF0000">"Here is what I have: the last 2 digits are completely gone and the 2 digits before that are hard to read but I believe it is 22337N1179-- the 7 may be a 9 and the 9 may be a 7 (very faded)" </span> .... Soooo - There's likely a "Continuous History Car" (CHC) out there somewhere. CHC is the car that continued on after the restoration and retains the continuous title history. Then there is this car, the "Original Component Car" (OCC). OCC is the car that is left after the restoration with its' title sequence inturrupted. The OCC may or may not retain the original factory frame or body stamps (depending on the location of the manufacturers factory stamping). This is an age old argument in the Cobra community (SAAC)because so many Cobras were wrecked and resurrected (either to continue their racing careers or by collectors when the values skyrocketed). Brian Anglis (AC) continued to make replacement Cobra frames and body panels (and full bodies) through the 1980s. The SAAC says that only one car (CHC or OCC) is eligible to be placed in the registry. Many legal cases have been decided with the same logic that SAAC uses. Which car do you think deserves a place in the registry?
There may be a lot of strong opinions (there were at SAAC) - which side would you come down on? There are all kinds of nuances and "what ifs", but maybe for this discussion we could just stick with this specific example of this particular Trans Am. Whaddya think? |

The other car, (if one exists with the tags and numbers of the aforementioned scrap) is evidence of a felony and I hope the perps are caught. Dead cars are DEAD. Moving VIN tags is a crime. I don't see the gray area. JMHO |
