man you guys looked like you had a blast. Tough deal about the broken parts but its the nature of the beast I guess. ALL those cars are looking real good. 11.80 is some quick ets. in my book Burchy. Way to go guys! Wish I was there. Those BlueStreaks on Grady's car look familiar.

What a fun day. Other than the few break downs.

Thanks to Doug for setting this up and picking a perfect weather day. Grady I believe had his best time yet in the Camaro. My best was 13.25 with 2.73 gears. Could have been better, but the shifting set-up with that car needs some tweaking.

Here are the only two pix that my phone actually saved:

My car and guess who (still wearing his winter plumage)?

Thanks again Doug.

You can sure tell an ex-aircraft mechanic... latex gloves on a tire change...

I know how you feel, M22, do the same myself.

Saves all that washing up when going to the Head.

How do you tell a Pilot from a Mechanic in the Head???

The Mech. washes before he pees...
The Pilot washes after...

Dicky, you tryin' to make me pee mt pant's
One time I was in the head and after I was finished, an Airman said, hay, aren't you going to wash your hands ? And I said, no, in the Navy they tought us not to pee on our hands.

After 40 some years of grubbing around cars and planes it finally dawned on me that the glove thing was a good idea, but most of the time I still don't use them.
It was a blast beating on the cars on Friday, I made a couple passes with my little 7" Hurst slicks and ran a new best of 13.45 @ 105. So then, A person that will go unamed thought it would be a good idea to try a set of real slicks...So, I did the burn out, staged, and launched @ 4000, traction was great, car never even move an inch, probably a good thing. If your going to break an axle, no sense in doing it halfway down the track.
I will post some pic's of my broken junk soon.
That car of Phils will be crazy after some 3.73's are installed.
Thanks again Doug for being a great host, and always nice to see Sam. Glad you like the cap too. Now I can tell everyone I helped restore your Deuce

Phil's 69 Chevelle 300 was running low 13s with more in it.. Not bad with a 502/502HP GM crate motor, Trimec 5 speed, 273 gears & posi out back!! Thanks to Phil for letting Sam and I drive it down the track.... It was fun!!! That red GTO turned in the 9s I believe...
