Wow! $550k? I was thinking more in the range of $750k! IIRC, the V.V. Cooke (V/T) car was the better restored car of the two RG Novas. I think the non v/t car still has a full custom interior in it. Both have some neat stories and vintage photos circulating about them.

The car going to Mecum is not the V.V. Cooke car, nor was it sold from Cooke to our knowledge. I believe the auction car was sold either from Yenko or from White Chev in Columbus, OH and may have spent time around Buckeye Ocean, OH.
Ironically, the V.V. Cooke car was reportedly picked up at Yenko by the buyer instead of waiting for it to be shipped to Cooke. The car came with some type of special wheels, not a big stretch since it was picked up at Yenko. Also, had the emblems in unique places. Neat old pics of both cars on this site, just do a search!
