Yes those BFG tires are terrible!!! It would look good with a set of MH racemasters and some cragers. It would be tempting to drive it like that for a bit but a complete back to 100% original restoration is what it would get. I have been following the car for years. Talked to all the owners even the originals son who ordered it new at Commonwealth Chevrolet in Boston Mass in Nov 1965.

Man, that is a bitchin' Vette and even though I'm a huge Day Two fan, I'd like to see it put back to Day One someday! Great original colors and I'll tell 'ya . . . . whoever owned that car originally was The King of their town wherever they lived! A '66 L-72 427 with factory 4.56 gears out back makes for one bad-azz mo-fo!

Trying to get some original pictures of the car from when it was new off the 2nd owner. Hes isnt computer savy so emailing me pictures isnt going to happen. Trying to get him to send me the originals and then I can make copies and then send him originals back. The original owner ordered new corvettes every few years he traded a 61 fuelly on this. According to his son the original owner was older when he ordered/bought the car. He died 4 years later and the 2nd owner owned the car from 1970 till 2007.

If he's reluctant to ship irreplaceable photos, ask him if there's a FedEx/kinkos nearby. You could pay them directly to do high quality scans, then email or send them to you via thumb drive. Then maybe offer a thank you gift card to a favorite restaurant for him or something. Good luck!

Its an A.O smith built car. The Vin# is in the 1800's You can see where the original hood support was on the passenger side. Its neat how early 66 big blocks used left over 65 bb hoods. The only original pieces missing to the car are the 827 and 828 exhaust manifolds and the 2nd owner polished the original 069 intake. The original FC suffix 4:56 rear is still with the car. Everything is exactly as the original protecto plate states. The N11 off road undercar exhaust is one of the first 427 cars equipped as such. It also a A31 power window car which I thought it was kinda odd considering how the rest of the car was optioned.
