*I* disagree ...
too many shiny cars, not enough of the real deal stuff left no one will remember what they looked like after 5 years of use

There is a thin line between having a pretty nice survivor or having a real nice repainted car. Maybe does not need to be restored, not crazy about restored cars anymore but to paint? Why not? Can always paint it lacquer were it will not shine as much.

The base coat clear coats seem to be more shiney than the original lacquer jobs it seems to me.

That line gets even thinner at public shows, going out for a burger and in the garage with the bicycles. I like the patina that just needs a little wet sand every few months [img]<<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/biggthumpup.gif[/img] Tired of freaking out over a scratch, I want to DRIVE these cars! That would be a one day sale at that price here in NY, not sure how it measures up in the rust free zones. My last three out of state purchases have taught me a lot. I will NEVER buy another snow belt salt soaked rust bucket!! |

Don't care about little road nicks etc. Don't care if I owned a restored COPO, I would drive it. NO lawn ornaments in my garage.. |
