I will gladly take a shift also and help out with policing the lot.... Let me know.... I think this might be the best idea of all.. I know I would sleep better knowing that a member of the site here is watching my vehicle at night in addition to the security....

Just as an fyi for those that have asked, a Sgt. from the Illinois State Police committed yesterday to security Thur/Fri/Sat night(s), as in previous years...he stated he'd also holler at Collinsville PD and make sure they're aware of what's happening and will maybe keep a watchful eye in the area.

He asked of any special instructions we should go over when we meet Thursday...I'm thinking, during his watch hours, any truck/trailer/show car movement needs further inquiry...?

Rob,

Is there a way for the tire blowout chains to be laid on the entrance/ exit of the parking area during the Sgt's shift? I am sure someone would hate running across one of those!!!

That's exactly what I was thinking.

Another question though; how many trailers and/or cars are left unattended at the hotel on Friday when we're at the track? Maybe a good idea to just have folks take their rigs to the track whether they're racing or not? Just a thought.

I know the chances are slim that something could happen, but everyone is a little edgy right now with Pete's ordeal fresh in their minds.

Rusty,
There's a lot of traffic through the lot after hours and much of it is unrelated to our deal. I doubt if the Doubletree folks would allow something like that. I wouldn't be opposed to it but Walter and Martha might get upset if you ruined the tires on their Lexus.
