Last but not least is Bryant Goldstone's 73 Javelin powered by a twin turbocharged 556ci BBC. He won Hot Rod Drag Week this year with a 6.67@217 average. He ran in the 6.50's at every track but Martin MI where he hurt the engine and only ran a 7.19. He put a hole in the head during the pass, so they ended up pulling the engine and repairing the head before heading to Milan the next morning. Luckly Milan had a fog delay which gave them some extra time. He ran a 6.54@221 at Milan and headed to Columbus OH for the final day. On the first pass in Columbus, he broke a U joint and damaged the Gear Vendor's overdrive, so they took it out and put a longer driveshaft in. On the next pass he did a burnout and realized he had no reverse, so they took it back to the pits and swapped transmissions. With under an hour left before the track closed the lanes he came out and ran a 6.59@216. He has won the Ultimate Iron class a number of times, but this was the first time he was the overall winner of Drag Week.

Goldstone and his buddies have no quit in them, that is a helluva lot of thrashing and that's not including the time it takes to drive to/from each track.

MCACN '24 was another great show. Thanks to everyone involved in putting it on and bringing their cars to display. This year was heavy on Corvette's, GTO's and Mopar's. I have about 150 pictures I will post over the next several days. I'll begin with the Corvettes. This Polo White 57 Corvette is a 283 horse fuelie with a 4 speed and is a radio and heater delete car. It is also equipped with RPO 684 Heavy Duty Brakes and is 1 of 43 with the RPO 579E Factory Airbox. D. Ghareeb had this car in the Triple Diamond Display.

This Onyx Black 57 Corvette is a fuelie with a 4 speed and is also a radio delete car. I believe this was a 283-horse car. J. Burgmaier had this car in the Triple Diamond Display. These dark colored cars are really hard to photograph indoors with the lighting and such.
