The headers are not in the car. That is a story in of itself. Jim Y. can tell that one if he likes. Frankly, he got the short end of the stick from a Southern California shop (who I will allow to remain anonymous) over those headers.

This car would sound stupid sick with M/T's on it

I posted this reply (thread) in the Racing section......................

Does anyone have, or know of someone..............that has collected racing results, pictures, slides, etc. from Lions Dragstrip?

In the search for the missing pieces to the puzzle on the HM L78 Camaro, we may have nailed down the name of the 2nd owner who MAY have raced the car. Having said that........(once the name is confirmed) I can then go and search for any results in programs, newspapers, newsletters, etc.

While all of this is a complete shot in the dark, I figure it is at least an interesting little project.

If anyone has a tip, suggestion, correction, a place to call, a place to write.................I am all ears.

In advance..........thanks for your consideration.

Tim

Were back from MCACN............took the car for a little ride today (54 and sunny).............and guess what...............the master cylinder I rebuilt is going south. Honestly, I'm surprised it worked after I put a kit in it earlier this year considering how pitted the bore was.

Soooooo................I pulled it of to send it out and have it sleeved.

The WT is so faint

I also though I'd snap some pics of things I have picked up recently for the car.

NOS Front brake pads

NOS Idler arm

NOS Muffler

And for the Day 2 side of things, an Edelbrock C427X Intake...

And a slightly used and then stored Holley 3bbl

My plan is to return the original heads, intake, carb, to the original L78 short block after I get everything freshened up. The only large ticket items are a pair of 842 heads for the L88 and perhaps a set of MT Super Scavenger headers for it.

Time will tell

Its going to White Post in New Jersey. They have done more than a few for me through the years and I have been happy with their work and service.

Hope that helps,

White Post did a great job sleeving the master cylinder and wheel cylinders in my survivor Sd455. If you tell them not to touch the original outside finish, they will follow your orders, otherwise it comes back nicely painted. Turnaround was one day!

P.S. I wouldn't use those NOS brake pads unless you like the car stopping like the old days...a long distance and the pads heating up and fading out after one hard stop.
