I think it's a very worthwhile and honorable thing to do. Tributes to lost friends and icons of the hobby get lost in other forums over time.
It's also a very good idea to have the moderators make the posts IMO. Verne

Great idea Tommy and a very respectful way of helping everyone deal w/ the loss of these friends..
Nice to think of their families viewing these postings too and seeing how much these guys were appreciated and will be missed by their friends here at SYC.. ~ Pete
