Default Re: Project Camaro Z-28 Wanted

[ QUOTE ]
The market is just fine on documented, original drive-train cars. The guys who are complaining about the market seem to have non-matching, undocumented hot rods that missed the mark by a couple of years. If the market is bad, where are all of the cars that people are bailing on?

My suggestion to you is to buy a finished non-Z28 or lower your expectations given the price range you're after. Again, just my $.02 Ed

I am not sure I would say that the market is just fine, even for documented cars. I do agree that documented cars will bring more than clones but I can tell you that the market is a lot slower and also weaker than it was 1-2 years ago. There has been a correction in the economy, housing, the stock market, and collector cars. Mean while the cost of living has increased. Over all I think it is a good thing that we have a correction in our hobby. I myself am one of a hobbyist that enjoys the hunt, the restoration, and the enjoyment of ownership. It needs to be affordable for the masses IMO.

I understand that there are quality projects out there for around 30k or even more, but I bet if you ask around you will find some that have paid around 25k for their real Z-28 projects. It really all depends on the condition of the project and the seller. There will be those that will need to sell a little less than market value for various reasons. If one of those are out there I hope to find it.
