That's a Nice Deuce..........
Is that a sidebody pinstripe following the bodyline of the car or just a reflection.....

Joe, The original owner had Home Motors in Santa Maria where he bought the car do it for him. Original owner told me that the guy doing the pinstripe dripped a drop of white paint while pinstripping and it is still there on the quarter panel. Sam

Sam, love those survivor cars! They're like history books! Full of interesting throw backs. Your Nova is no exception and I'm sure you'll have a blast keeping it clean and beating it up... Are my eyes going or is that an a.i.r. system on your 350?

Just throwing this out there... was the L48 a 4 bolt or 2 bolt main block?

Any vintage photos?

The original owner has NO original pictures. I asked him a couple times. That is an AIR system. Same block as a Z/28. Glad you like it Dan.

Don't quote me on this, but I'm fairly sure the only 4 bolt main small blocks were the 68 & up 302's, and the LT-1.

Nope, 68's were 2 bolt blocks and in 69 the SS 350's and the Z/28's and the 4 barrell truck blocks were basically all the same. 1969 started the 4 bolt blocks. So when you think you are buying something special when you buy a DZ block you are really ONLY buying the stamped suffix code. Unless of course you have the car to go with the DZ block.

Yep, I have 4 0010 blocks. Three are four bolt main and came out of 4WD trucks.

But there's 010 2 bolt blocks too isn't there?.
And what's the other casting used for the 69 DZ's...and only the two used?.
And the truth on the high nickle content thing is...and only the 010's or what?.

Anyone know by chance what casting was used on the blocks shipped to S. Africa for the 100 factory installed Can-Am Firenza cars and spares?. These things are the ultimate and I've asked a few of owners of these cars for info before but only had confirmation of the DZ suffix, never any replies to the casting #'s or dates?.

And lastly, anyone have production by suffix for DZ's...I think Fran Preve listed these back in SuperChevy once?.

Sorry for the sidetrack-hijack..

~ Pete
