[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] I have seen an original Paint Berger X11 Double COPO with the D90 Stripe. We can also ask Kevin DeWitte as the original owner of his Berger X11 Double Copo with D90 stripes, how his car was equipped when new. I hear that his COPO has survived the years much better than he has, but maybe his Nurse can help him type a response [/ QUOTE ] I just posted these today....and the article has some original pics! Click Here, for Kevin's Berger COPO [/ QUOTE ] "Actually I was never happy with the stripes on the car when it was new. It was very evident the stripes started out as regular D90 stripes with a gap in the front end of them where the numerals for the engine would go. Somewhere along the assembly process, this gap was painted black and you could see where the factory used some kind of a template to spray that open area black. On one fender it matched perfectly, the other side their stripes were all off a little. You could also see the overlap of paint on the top and bottom of the gap where the new paint was painted over the existing stripe. My eyes were great back then, remember it well. The car has been repainted, and I'm debating when I redo it to reproduce the painted gap. I'm sure that would start a huge question by many on why my front fender stripes look so weird. I'm actually going to let my nurse make the final decision because she is only 29 and had much better eyes than I do!!" Kevin DeWitte's Nurse |
