[b] This '49 Chevy was sitting in front of a home about a mile away - real fifties style,
a 4 door made to look like a 2 door with a suicide knob, beer tap shifter, curb feelers , Moon Eye's behind the front wheelwells etc. - But check out the back yard!! There was all kinds of stuff back there! - - ![]() - ![]() - ![]() -

The 61 could become a Strickler/Jenkins tribute car. Looks to be the correct color. I know exactly where that place is. Never see anyone around.
Nice pictures! Sam |

Now that you say that, it looks like the Gatti Automotive car in the background of this shot.

Been there many times - but only in the winter, no bees or p-ivy. Several of those cars were brought in this spring. That 'velle 'vert was from Reedman Chev. It's a tricky place to find
I guess the '69 GTO is gone? It was dusk blue, blue gut, a/t, but rotted out ![]()

I can see alphanumerics on the pix of the stamp pad from the lower left of the pad slanting toward the upper right.

Sam, Real hard to tell, but the last letter might be a G, indicating 250hp P/G. The valve covers, carb and distributor are all 1958.
VerneAnd it's a little hard to tell from the pics, but I think the heads are also '58s (no spark plug cooling passages) |

That '61 is a very low production model. Impala 2-dr Sedan. 'Ol Reliable-I was a Biscayne. Car seems to be in very good shape for a '61. The Impala interior in that body style is also unique, not reproduced at all. That one looks like it could be saved too! Looks like a standard 250hp 348, but for what it's worth, the grille emblem is for a 6cyl.
Thanks for the pics Dog. IF you go back there, grab the VIN from the driver's door jam and the cowl tag info (behind the LH inner fender on the firewall).... I'd like to add it to the dbase if possible.By the way, total production of that body style is 1711 6cyl: 4,949 1811 8cyl: 6,770 Verne |
