Ah, an interesting question, what's it worth....if I owned this engine I would probably try to figure out what the owner of #40 would charge me if I owned the car and he owned the engine.

Thats good to hear...someone said he knew for a fact these cars never went back to Norwood ![]() [/ QUOTE ] i never thought there was any question ![]() A) the original car shipper recieved by Complete Auto Transit on Mar. 7,1969...consigned to Gibb Chev...and signed for and recieved Mar. 11 at the dealership with truck #,etc... B) the original dealer copy of the Car Shipper (shows options and prices) but non-dated C) Original loading memo on Gibb Letterhead certifiing that this car was loaded on Truck # xxxxxx "..to be hauled to Norwood Plant" dated May 24,1969 at 6:00 PM and signed by the driver... D) Copy of original MSO dated June 25,1969..from Chevrolet Motor Division...Norwood Ohio...to Govan's Chev. Baltimore Maryland... It's interesting that the car only sat 2 and a half months before it got sent back to Chevy...Gibb must have already know that they were not going to sell well. Imagine, base price on this car was 2727.00 dollars..with very few options..7269.35 dollars with the options..4160.15 for the ZL-1 option alone!!! This car did not sell until finally in June of 1970!!! And for a measly 4800 bucks!! Still a lot of 1969 money. Boy did the dealer take a loss on this car!! |
