Dont do any paint, just a good cleaning and leave off the repro stuff, decals, etc. If things like your latches were puff canned, strip the paint off, probably lacquer thinner will work fine for that, then oil. The Boeshield is great. There is detailing you can do without hurting the survivor status. Painting parts isnt good for that.
