Herbie's Hugger/Barry Desalve set 5 track records in 1969 for low E.T., all under the 11:40, but choose not to apply for the record since he was " only racing against himself ".

They also set the NHRA MPH National record in August 19h of 1972 at 126.58.

Sam was probably there!
