Yep, it's a rare one alright. It's a V8, model 1811 and only 6770 were built.

This one is kind of interesting. 1934 Terraplane complete chassis, as left outside a '30s repair shop in IL. It's now been preserved just like it is outside the restored shop.

Tommy, The trunk emblem (if original) indicates a 283. The production numbers come from Chevrolet records.
