Don't fight it. I never expected to like the desert with most of my attention focused on the 4 mos. of extreme heat. But, oh the winters. 8 mos. of blissful kind-to-the-big-blocks cool beautiful sunny weather. It is indeed hard to beat and even harder to go back. BTW I spent my formative years growing up in the rust belt of Northeast Ohio.
