I believe some '68s have been found to be COPOs too. One of the Yenko guys should know this for sure.

The Knafel Tempests were regular 400s. This was the top engine for this car and was the same as the standard GTO's engine, but it was rated lower in the Tempest.

Of course, in '71, the top Pontiac engine was available in most of the A-bodies besides the GTO.
