Thanks for the kind words everyone! I love seeing all the awesome cars on this site! Cool to have mine included. Makes all the hard work worth it.
A year and a half ago or so, you guys were commenting on my 68 Hurst Olds that was on E-bay, that's how I found this site. Hey Canuck, the W30 originally sold at a dealership called Arthur Sirios Ltd. in Riviere duLoup, PQ (where is that anyway?). Sent letters to the first two owners in Canada, but no response............. I do have a couple misc. parts I need, I'll send you a PM in a bit. |

Very nice looking ride! I wish I could open up a home for wayward Oldsmobiles, but I believe that my wife might kill me!

Hey Canuck, the W30 originally sold at a dealership called Arthur Sirios Ltd. in Riviere duLoup, PQ (where is that anyway?). Sent letters to the first two owners in Canada, but no response............. [/ QUOTE ] Canada is a huge country, about 1000 miles wider than USA. Quebec is on the east coast and Rivere Du Loop is in the Eastern regions of the province. A lot of cars sold in those Eastern towns got shipped into Labrador where the high paid construction workers needed something to spend their money on. No guarantee that that was the history of your car. Many early owners may have been transient. I know of two other 72 w-30 hardtops in Flame Orange that were sold new in Canada other than the one I had.

That orange was popular, my parents' '72 Lemans GT was the same shade of orange.
Your "driver" restoration is very sanitary, the '68 H/O must have been stunning. Sorry your appraiser experience was poor. It's a wide open industry, and you really have to interview people to make sure they're up to the task. Some of us do know what we're doing, however ![]() Here's a link to that green '72 W30 for sale up here in the Pacific NW. Not nearly as cherry as the one featured here, but a fun color and a 4sp as well..... http://www.memorylanemotors.net/carpics.php?car=72442 TOM |

Thanks Tom!
The 68 was a frame off "trailer queen" & I don't have a trailer. I enjoy driving these cars too much & it was too nice to take the road wear. I guess my use of the term "driver" may be a stretch. I have driven this W30 to a show or cruise almost every weekend this summer. My 68 was driven to three local shows in two seasons. Love that green, bench seat car in the link. I am looking for a set of those steel wheels for mine, I really like that look! |

I just want to revisit this Members Ride and say that this Olds is still stunning years later!
Joe and his wife are great folks and we're happy that they decided to make AZ their home. Can't wait to get together with them soon
