Dealer has a lot of nice cars. Anyone here know them or done business with them before? Seems to be a lot of Illinois people here. Just thought I'd ask for future reference. George

I've known Tony Begley for 20 years and he's a good guy and stands behind whatever he sells. He used to get in some real nice affordable cars that the average joe could afford to by but lately he seems to be after the big bucks and is getting a little greedy and his inventory is way over priced like so many of the other muscle car dealers. With the rediculas prices that are being paid for cars at Barrett Jackson and Mecum auctions, I guess you can't blame him for trying to get top dollar but it's getting harder and harder for a newbie to get into the muscle car hobby.

Am I remembering that Dan Hampton of the Chicago Bears used to own this car? Thought I remember seeing an article posted on the wall of this dealer showing this car and owner a few years back.

If so, might want to check out the springs in the driver's side seat.

There is currently no GSX Buick for sale on his site. He does have a seperate archive of the cars that have been sold from there,(and that archive consists of several hundred cars) and he did sell a saturn yellow GSX several years ago, that must be the one you saw. It's been gone for a long time.

I think that was a different Chevelle.
Similar in color trim to this one,but that one was an Auto Trans.,transplanted L-78 engine w/Nitrous and built special for Chicago Bear Trace Armstrong.

Trace Armstrong was into Hot Rods/Muscle cars as was Richard Dent (Customs). One of Trace's former Chevelles belongs to a club member here in Chicago (far West Suburbs) It is a Fathom Blue, White,White,White rag top.

The Fathom Blue, White, White ragtop appears with three other cars in the gallery pics on NICAB website. A'57 and a '55 he purchased there, and Traces '69 Chevelle race car, "The Other Woman". The '70 rag was built for Trace, and he assisted in the build.
In the 90's there were 5 known L78 ragtops- Chuck Hanson's Red, Mike Gabbard's Fathom Blue, the Silver, White, and Black, which were all at Nicab. The White belonged at one time to a member here. The current one would make 6. There was another possible Red one down south that made 7. He probably never heard details about the others.
