Default Re: 1970 Chevelle LS6 4sp prefer black w/ white strip

First I would like to say, I have NOTHING to gain by starting a story about a bogus car. I owned the first car the Bloomington Gold Benchmark award was founded on, a 1953 Corvette (Vin. # 100)the Straight Axle Corvette Club of America is currently doing an article on, a 1969 L-89 coupe the NCRS used for there Judging manuals, and numerous Camaros and Chevelles(Even a 1969 Hemi Roadrunner in 1974!). Any body who knows me, can tell you I am a Purist in the sence I appreciate a car for it's originality, it's rarity, or for it's historic value (If it IS a real car).

About 2 years ago I tried tracking this car down and I talked to a salesman at the selling dealership. He rememberd the car. I believe the engine code was CRW or CRY? First time I ever saw that code. I will post the article when I find it. I have a hard time believing someone had the vision to bogus up a build sheet way back in the late 1970's. I found out this car sold to a Ford Mustang collector out of Oklahoma At a Barrett / Jackson auction back in the mid 1980's, and is currently owned by one of our members living currently in California. A lot of cars were built not as they seemed back then. Look at all the spc (special paint car) cars now showing up.

I have found over the years of having this desease (which we are not looking for a cure!)we all have collecting and restoring muscle cars, you just have to have an open mind. If this car is real, It is rarer than a ZL-1!
