Default Re: New Ford GT

I "traded" my Porsche Carrera GT and another Porsche for a 1963 Shelby Cobra with 9200 original miles as Colin (the troublemaker) knows since he brokered the deal for me. The Porsche Carrera GT value was sinking like a rock and the Shelby is a rapidly appreciating asset.

I bought a Ford GT after Colin spent months and numerous frustrating trips to the Ford dealer trying to fix all the problems with his Ford GT and figuring out how to correct the voluminous factory defects that will have to be addressed after I receive my car and before I can drive it with any margin of reliability.

AND then only after Colin spent thousands of dollars getting his factory slug up to 620 HP at the wheels and I had the chance to drive the beast at Colins shop. In other words I let Colin trail blaze a trail for me before I bought one. The Ford GT styling is iconic perhaps one of the best looking cars ever built IMHO, but it is a defect riddled Ford. I just bought a new Ford Expedition this week and got, oh about 20 miles before the A/C broke when it was 109 degree's out here. Same thing happened to my 2004 Ford Dually when I bought it. I am taking it to be fixed at an independent and not even wasting my time at a Ford dealer. There is a reason why Ford is on the verge of bankruptcy and it's not because of the quality control which is almost non existent.

What were the original dyno numbers on your Ford GT Colin? 420 HP at the rear wheels from the factory in stock tune??? Why not share that with us plus all your horror stories and breakdowns with your car? The only reason I bought one is now after your saga I know what to fix before I drive mine and I have a decent Ford collection and still bleed Ford oval blue for better or worse. Plus after it's modded it's a freakin animal and a blast to drive.
