I should have been more specific in my earlier post - on Norwood cars, both the bolted-on deck lid latch (on the body) and the bolted-on deck lid striker (on the lid) were installed before paint. The striker is body color, and the latch is body color and spatter paint. Those were the only separate "hardware" items installed prior to paint (other than the torsion rods - everything else was welded). Photo attached of my original 02D Norwood latch.
