Rob,
Water is softer on the Good Side of the River. Seriously though I have never used Water to clean or refresh anything in the Engine Bay. Use a good soft cloth to dust it and your favorite detailer that does NOT create a gloss finish or leave anything behind so more dust can collect on it is best. I use a detailer and then wipe off all the excess and this works best for me.
