The geartoth-angle is the same as in an M-22, and it has a 26-spline input shaft.

I could be wrong but the angle of the gears that you posted the picture of do not look like M22 gears to me!M22 gears are not cut at that much of an angle. The gears you are showing look different somehow, looks maybe like they have been modified or something but don't look like M22's to me.The 26 spline shaft is a super T10 and the side cover is a borg warner, are there any grooves on the input shaft.A M22 has no grooves on it.I do not believe a set of M22 gears will work in a borg warner trans! You are showing a borgwarner trans in the picture!

From "Corvette by the numbers" by Alan L. Colvin:
"The Borg-Warner T10 4-speed was introduced in the Camaro and Corvette in January 1974." "By 1974, the muscle car era was basically over, and General motors decided to outsource transmissions for those few models that still needed a high performance gearbox." "This version is considered the sixth, or final, design, and is more commonly known as the Second Design Super T10." "The Borg-Warner 4-speed offered two new gear ratios, a low wide 2,64:1 and low close ratio of 2,43:1"

This one is 2,43:1 close ratio built in 1975 with a Norwood VIN on it.
What does that first #2 designate ?

The first 2 is GM Division designation
1-----Chevy
2-----Pontiac
3-----Olds
4-----Buick
The 5 after the 2 is the model year...
So your trans came out of a 1975 Firebird built at the Norwood plant...Hope this helps...Crash

I agree, the ST10 gear-angle is somewhere in between M20/21 and M22.
