Scam, scam, scam. It's very likely that the seller ID has been hijacked by the scammer. They look for eBay members with 100% positive feedback ratings and then steal their eBay identity. You look at the auction, check the feedback--all good, and think: "This must be legit." It isn't. It's designed to get you to panic at the incredibly low price for such a valuable car and BUY IT NOW. You send the $2,000 "deposit" to a P.O box somewhere (like Europe or Africa) and that's the last you hear from the "seller."

I just got another fake eBay e-mail last night asking me to update my account information or I will "lose all buying and selling privileges." You're supposed to panic and click the link and "update" your account information. I forwarded it to eBay's "spoof" e-mail address and they confirmed it was fake within 10 minutes.
