Pantera;
I am glad you went for the car. Bezel 3949603 is for a 68 and was removed from service parts in 11-68. Probably since it was superseeded by the new version used in 69. 3949604 was the RH side. I would like to get a picture of 3914780 and a double check of the part number since I can not find it anywhere. Thanks, Greg

The 69 AIM does not have that page to check the bezel number. The part listed in the 69 Parts and accessories book is 3914759 (LH) and 3914760 (RH) for 68 only. Could the 8 be a 6?
That opening in the cowl side is not factory. I wonder why it was cut out?

I am sure of the number. what do you think that is off of? I looked at all the later years and none has chrome around the light like this one. All of them were black next to the light???? Go figure...
The cut out looks like they were trying to get more air into the car under their feet. that would not be a good place to pull air into the car as you would get all the heat off the motor. I found header bolts so it may have had a set of tube headers at one time. There is no stock exaust left anywhere. so he may have ran header mufflers straigh back underneath. I will spot wield a patch back over it and thank goodness it will not ever show unless you are looking hard for it. ![]() |

Go figure... [/ QUOTE ] That headlight bezel is from a '68 Nova, non-SS. For correctness, it is a one-year-only part. The 69 bezels had headlight aiming/adjustment slots in them and were black around the headlight. The 70-72 were similar to the '69, but they also had a vertical rib down the middle of the hump.

The LF '69 Bezel that you just described sounds like the one that I have. Now I just need to find a RH one to match it.
Perhaps this car has had a RF fender changed at one time. the inner wheel wells look like new ones. Thanks for the info. |

As I am absorbing more & more info about Novas as I can,I was under the impression that the early built Novas had their door hinges welded,and later was bolted.Is this true,and what are the ones on your Nova like?
Thanks. |

I have a pair of correct '69 headlight bezels. Email me at: [email protected] if you are interested.
Click the link below to see them. http://community.webshots.com/photo/...23777130dJhDOY Novas built from the 68 model year through December 1969 ('70 model) have bolt-on door hinges. Based on my observations, Novas built from Jan. '70 forward have weld-on hinges.
