More than years . . . probably decades. I wouldn't doubt that it's some sort of modified car; the spot under the trim tag sure makes it seem like it has some sort of special history. I guess what I'm saying is, keep an open mind until it's proven false.

I don't want to automatically discredit an add. In fact, I hope evey day for a new listing or add like this, to check in to. It helps me keep my hopes and dreams alive. When a car prooves to be something other than it is advertised, I move on and keep looking. I know we need education in supercar history from time to time, but since this thread is so fresh, let's try to keep this history lesson positive.

The ad and pictures for this Nova are lousy. They don't help with anything. There are no pics of the rest of the interior or parts, or the firewall, or the radiator core support, or anything like that.

One can't even look for the clues of a big block, much less the clues for a COPO. The most I can get out of it is that it looks like it had bucket seats and a console.

With only 50 of the COPO's being built, and a handfull of BB cars total, there sure were a lot more "regular" and small-block SS Novas being built in that same time frame. So, yes it could be, but it also might not be. Not enough information.

There really isn't much to go on here, the are no pic's of any BB items, no pic of the radio delete dash, no paperwork, not even a vin to check out. The only clues are the build date and body color like the ad states, how many turquoise Novas were made in '68 with a 735 trim code?

Everybody just hold your comments, I have sent an email to the owner to see what I can do to help confirm or deny this car.

The word is that it's been confirmed, Ed and Porterfield have the numbers. If it's true, expect to see the ad change to reflect that.

The owner emailed me and said it was confirmed as COPO Nova # 4. Sounds like an interesting find . . .
