From the 1969 HD parts list in P&A-30A
3969804 - 396/427 ROD ASSY., Conn. (floating pin) (7/16" bolts) Has this note associated with it: This part can be used inplace of 3909846, provided the rod cap clearances are machined into the cylinder block The 3909846 p/n is the floating pin, 3/8" bolt, rod for a 396/427 identified as 1st design.
