Got a look (not close) at a 65 396 in a guys garage tonight, he said it was out of a chevelle...what else could it have been in 65? corvette?

Don't forget that the '65 L-78 (396-425hp) was also installed in full size Chevrolets in '65. I recall seeing a production total once that was around (I believe) 2500.

TB is exactly right. My brother had a yellow one that would leave one black streek for about 300 yards! What was GM thinking??

Dennis Hyrdauic lifter engine was 375HP,and more socially acceptable for the New Chevelle.The solid was 425HP,& the Corvette always got the highest HP first....But not in 1970 Baby!
