Default Re: '70 ls6 convertible from briggs chevrolet

The Briggs Chevrolet LS6 Convertible has been located after searching for 5 years. I posted a wanted ad on draglist.com and Team Chevelle back in 2000. I was fortunate enough to receive a phone call from Ray Allen the original driver of that World Champion SS/EA LS6 Convertible. Ray told me he had located his old 70 LS6 Drag Car back in the mid 1990's and was completing the restoration on it. I hope we will see it soon. Now that Ertl has decided to release a 1/18 scale diecast model of this car, I'm sure it could become as popular as the "Red Alert" 70 SS/DA Chevelle. As mentioned above I have started a webpage on the Truppi-Kling, Briggs car and have gathered a great deal of history and many rare photos in both color and b&w. Unfortunately I have no way to scan or post them until I upgrade my computer skills. If anybody has any questions on the Briggs LS6 convt, I might be able to answer them. Check the link to my webpage above or click on my profile and then on my homepage. Enjoy it. If you have anythng to add or comments, send me an email or PM. Thanks, Kevin

Briggs Chevrolet was one of the largest Chevy Dealers on the East Coast. They were located in South Amboy New Jersey just south of NYC. Their used car lot was a site to see in the late 60's to mid 70's......lots of used big block Chevelles, Novas, Camaros, Vettes, LT-1 Vegas, etc. The building is still there but not a car dealer any more.........Kevin
