Some of the mods I did to my Chevelle in the 70's was installing Mickey Thompson finned valve covers, Doug Thorley headers (were cheaper than Hooker Headers) and replacing the Rochester Q-jet with a Holley spread bore carb.
Had cherry bombs on it for a while. A bit noisy though. The neighbours kids would cover their ears and run for cover when I drove down the street. Later switched to turbo mufflers.
