dillon14, I agree with Marlin, just drive and enjoy it. I built one 12 years ago as a daily driver and had a ball with it. If something broke I fixed it, I did not care if I got caught in the rain (drove it from Bristol SCS in a downpour the day after it was finished) as it was a "clone". I even drove it to Atlanta one weekend in the middle of August just for the experience! However that did my wife in on going anywhere in a car w/o a/c. Come to think of it, that was not one of my brightest ideas. But we had fun........................RatPack................ .....

Hey Ratpack,
You should have done what I did. Mine was originally an A/C small block grocery getter. The 840 heads only have one accessory boss, so I modified the lower rear compressor bracket, to attach to the exhaust manifold bolts. If I ever get it back from the painter, I'll have to bring it to one of your club meetings. |

Unreal, are you still not going to be able to make it up for the show next weekend? It looks like there will be a big turnout.
That clone I did was down there in your area for a while then was sold after the kid died from cancer. I saw it about 3 years ago in Dothan AL for sale at $41k and it sold for $39k. Wish I had that car back as it was a blast to drive. It needed a/c really bad. The interior heat was unbearable at times. We took 411 back from Atlanta and I ended up changing clothes in Chatsworth because I had sweated so much. I even had towels on the seat backs and bottoms and it was still hot! Those Hooker S/C headers with 4" collectors dumping out under your feet just cooked the floors. Astro-ventilation is really a fancy name for hot air blowing in your face......................RatPack................. |

No, I can't make it and remain married
I talked to my son, who is at UT and told him about the show. He's starting to get interested in cars, and said he would probably go over to the show. Big change from a few years ago, when I would ask for his help. If I turned my back, he was gone!! |
