I'd guess the stone washed denim was phased out by the late 80s, and the unlaced high tops were a thing through the late 80s also.

The OG photo looks a lot like John Platania w/mustache (SSL78),during the 1980's standing in front of his home here in West Chicago.
The cleaned up photo does not.

That is correct, the picture was shared by John Platania on FB and was taken in 1985.

I believe John Platania owned N579568 a Hugger Orange with black stripes car that was sold out of Jack Douglas Chevrolet. I've never seen the car in person and don't know it's current whereabouts.
