Is it possible the bar is indeed the correct part but bends were modified during resto/repaint? Of course you need to confirm w/ an actual L78 part to be correct, but comparing yours as immediately above w/ the L34 pics below that 67since67 shared in Post 6 also other from Bruce’s link, it looks like yours may work if flattened and both bends were re-bent at different locations further up, which may position the top adjuster bolt further along in the slot, but it appears to have enough slot length to offer? Note specifically in the 1’st pic below, how close the upper bend is to the slot, also the second pic angle well shows how far upwards the lower bend is from bottom bolt, then compare where the two bends are w/ yours as pic above. ![]() ![]() ~ Pete .
