If I remember correctly, the smog pump was dated St Patrick's day, 1967. The Black Plates are the ones put on the car in 1967. Tim really picked up where I left off. If the car has a smog pump, it will work properly on a car he owns. Me, well, I just pulled the belt and drove the car.

Tim's NEED to completely disassemble and clean/refresh every instrument panel that comes thru his shop makes ALL the difference in appearance of his cars. When he's done, it doesn't look dated or tired. It looks like it just came from the dealer. Absolutely incredible what he does to every Corvette he touches that very few others would even consider tackling. I would bet there are collectors who would be willing to have their cars, or at least an intact instrument panel, if they could figure out how to remove it, shipped to him just for this service...

Me, back in the day (early 80’s) on one of my 1967 GTO’s with A.I.R I removed the internals (vanes, rotor, etc.) of the pump so I could leave the belt on to keep it esthetically correct. I was cheating the atmosphere, sorry
