Soak it,not rub or spray on as it takes time to loosen the paint.I usually fill a tupperware container and put all my small pieces in it overnight un-covered & no gloves,(it's not caustic)...A good 12 or 24 hours should suffice at warm room temperature.Then rinse your item under running cold water and towel dry.
Being yours is a much larger item,I would buy a few gallons and soak half of it in a bucket or drum,then repeat on the other side a day later.
I re-use mine over & over & over again,after I filter out all the loose crap.
Once it turns dark & weakens,you can dispose down a sink/toilet.
