Motor Wheel Spyder Wheels Found..Score
I've been thinking about an option for a second set of wheels and tires for my recently purchased 1965 442 post coupe. Something a bit more aggressive than the factory two bar wire wheel covers the car was ordered with. While doing my usual searches I ran across an ad for a very nice set of 14x7 Motor Wheel Spyders for a too good to be true price local to me. Ran out and grabbed them. Really like them but I'm questioning if they fit the theme of the car since they were manufactured a few years after my car was built. If I were to use them, should I put a set of Coker Redline repops on them to go along with the white paint and red interior? The Spyders look great with Goodyear Polyglas but I'm not sure it fits the theme of the car. Or redlines on the front with M&H's or piecrust style slick on the rear? The rear wheel wells have ample room for a larger tire and I'd like to fill it out a bit more. Or move them along and go with something else? (SS1's with redlines come to mind.)
Just looking for some opinions and/or ideas from the group. Thanks in advance

Wheels are great! I’d go with F70’s in front and G70’s in year. Just a little bigger tire in rear will look good. I’d go with radials not bias, JMO.

Car currently has a set of long discontinued G70-14 Redline Mickey Thompson tires that are older than my kids!

Put 2 of the wheels on one side of the car and look at it for a while before you purchase tires..

I'm 60, and can't remember anyone running those wheels, but that ad, surely remember that! Very rare and vintage look. That's going to stand out!
