I can hear the stompy feet of all those who thought they had the eternally fastest challenger.

Oh yeah, you should see the (justifiable) anger level over at Hellcat.org. The 2018 Demon owners are pissed that:

1) They made a new Demon when they were promised Dodge would never do that. (LOL)

2) That they didn't get an allocation coupon to get one with a matching VIN that Dodge said they could do when ordering one. (which I totally understand)

3) The insane attitudes of ALL the dealers and their half a million dollar markups. One 2018 Demon owner called over 50 dealers to try to order one and was laughed at my most of them who said why should we sell it to you when we can auction it off instead and make a quarter million?

4) Oh, and the latest method that the dealers are doing to get around the "MSRP priced cars get scheduled first" rule? The dealers are buying the cars for themselves and putting MSRP as the price on the paperwork.

Since Fiat Chrysler/Dodge got bought, yet again, by Stelantis, I doubt the new owner group feels any need to live with promises made before their ownership.
One way for Dodge to benefit from the dealer raping, is to claim 50% of the over MSRP paid and have it proven by the sales document provided to the state(s) for sales tax and license. And tax, wow, are the states a winner there too, but I guess the people willing to pay $400,000 over MSRP aren't too concerned with an additional ~$30,000 in tax...

BTW, here's the 2018 production color chart in case anyone goes hunting for an old school Demon.
