I would need to see more photos of the car to help.

What kind of 427 emblems (if any), holes for hood pins etc.

Did you try talking to Joel, Martyn Schorr, and Joe Mason. ?

You can also try a deep search of all 1967-68 magazines to see if it is in a back ground shot or an article unrelated to the car.
