Is the current tag also a fake?
Thought crossed my mind that maybe after it was called out, that someone put the original back on. Not likely I know. I have to say, after about 2005, the TT.com tags are a lot better than the early ones. That's what we get for making all the mistakes public.

Wouldn't an original red Z have black Stripes?

Seller got a little salty that the car didn't bring $100k+ like some of the Z's on BAT have brought. Someone called out the trim tag issue early in the string of comments, not sure if that affected the results or not. Seller claims he is going to twin-turbo LS the car. Might as well - it could be a real Z, or it could just as easily have been an X11 or X44 car that was made into one. No way to tell for sure now.
I just shake my head about some of the regulars on that site whining about people asking about the provenance of cars that are advertised as real-deal rare, highly desirable collectibles with original components. If you own an original Rembrandt and you see someone hawking fakes, aren't you going to get a little pizzed that the value of your investment is being diluted? |
