69 COPO Camaro Restoration Info

The ripped out holes would be where the hanger for the transverse muffler was welded to the trunk pan. The rectangular plate on the side of the frame rail (on the right) was the reinforcement plate for the tailpipe hanger. The area to the left didn't have anything from the factory that I know of. Here's a couple of pics from my COPO. These items would have ben on any factory dual exhaust equipped car, not just COPO's.
Would love to hear more about your car, got any more info on it?

The bracket that was torn off was not used with dual exhaust but it was installed on all 1969 Camaros. Might have to find one if you're restoring back to day one...Joe

Another hole question...
2 holes behind rear seat, circled in yellow... do you know if they were used for anything?

Not sure what they are for? Maybe something to do with a 6 cyl hanger for exhaust? Regardless, all 69s have those holes and it has nothing to do with being a copo and they are not used for anything on a copo.

Those 2 holes he has circled are not supposed to be there. They must've had something mounted there. Was the car a race car?...Joe

Yes it was a race car.
I am working with the original owner who raced it at the track some, but didn't remember doing anything with these holes. He also drove the car as a daily driver. Today it has a little over 12,800 miles on it
The second owner of the car also raced it, but unfortunately has passed away. The third owner of the car did not race it.
I believe I am the forth owner of the car. When I bought it the previous owner had started to restore it and disassembled most of it.
The second owner of the car was a little more "disrespectful" of the car and put a few holes in her... it was just a race car ...
If they don't belong, then I will plan to get them patched up.

This thread is getting useless without pics of your car! How's that for trying to shame you into letting us see what you got? Seriously, I would love to know more about your car since mine is also a low mileage Ohio COPO with a race history.

I’m going to take slight issue with this statement, in all due respect. It is an exhaust hanger for single exhaust. All 69s had them regardless if it had dual exhaust.
