I think time is where the harshness comes in. I think most guys soak overnight. What did the instructions say to do? Making things clean externally and clearing passages can be two different things. You carb looks great by the way.

Thanks. Basically they say 30 minutes soak time. More for extreme crud etc. They state that you can soak 4 hours to overnight but you will be at risk of removing plating etc.
This carb was nice to start with. All passages were checked before and after dip. I had a nice correct baseplate (also cleaned with the Chem Dip) to go with it not shown in the before pic. I was very surprised at how well the Berryman worked. No smell and it didn't burn my skin. |

Thanks guys. The outside of the carb is not bad at all. I'm just worried about what I'll find inside when I open it up. Had car running the other days but that was from pouring gas in manually. Wouldn't run by its self and carb leaking fuel around a few gaskets. No gas pumping out when stepped on throttle. Fuel pump is pumping and has anew filter. Thanks again.
