Looks like the rockers were Gold in this photo...

For Black to have been applied to the fender during the painting process at Chevrolet Assembly there would have to be a SPECIAL NOTE as it would not have fit typical production what so ever - non style trim cars have body colored rockers.

That leaves the possibility that
1. The Fender was blacked out in the touch up booth
OR
2. The rockers were painted Gold in the touch up at the end of Chevrolet assembly.

IF scenario #1 occurred - The black on the fender was applied in the touch up at the end of Chevrolet assembly - The tape line breaking the gold and black will be BELOW the trim - not through the center trim screw hole on the fender.
This would also lead to the following paint layers being CURRENTLY on the fenders and the rockers -
From the outer most color
Burgundy - black - gold

IF the fender is Burgundy - Black - Gold and
the Rocker is Burgundy - Black - Gold - Black - Gold -
Then it was in all likely hood painted in the same manner as Dave's (Bill Hunter's) X66 Yenko with the rockers having been painted at the end of Chevrolet Assembly.

The OG Motivation Yenko was a picture whore. I have been able to find roughly 64 vintage pictures of the car from its various owners and various drag strip photographers thus far. Gotta love the Cool Can and the Big Holley 2brl carb they were running at that time.

Didn't take long to lose the curve neck. Any idea what that "thingy" is on the driver side valve cover?

Looks like a push in breather on a piece of hose with an elbow going into the valve cover, probably in an effort to eliminate some oil blowback when you immediately lift after full throttle runs...
