What's the story behind the short and long bars? These shorter ones appear to have an option to mount the j-bolts farther apart in the back.

Yes, I don’t know why that is. Pictured below is another early Lakewood traction bar that is different in that some of the holes are slotted along with the outboard holes. This one is for a Ford application,Rob.
