So yes, parts including spoilers and cowl panel were painted body color and then masked for stripes prior to the spoiler being installed to have stripes painted. Cowl panels could be striped hanging vertically, original paint examples have stripe color overspray coming out the wiper nozzle holes which likely would be on the bottom as striping is sprayed.
